STiR appoints new India Country Director

STiR Education is delighted to announce the appointment of a new India Country Director to our global leadership team. Swaha Sahoo joins the organisation today to lead our work across India, which is currently reaching more than 4.7 million children and 180,000 teachers across three states.

Swaha joins us from Tata Trust, where she has led on a reading and library initiative across eight states in India. She previously had a successful career in journalism and holds MAs in International Education & Development and Development Journalism.

Swaha said: “Teachers are the backbone of India’s education system. I am excited to be part of STiR’s work with teachers and school leaders. With our intrinsic motivation model, I hope we will be able to inspire and impact a positive change in teachers and their approach to teaching and learning.”
