Jenny Willmott

CO-CEO

Jenny has over 20 years’ leadership experience across the NGO, private and public sectors. Based in Kampala, she joined STiR in 2019 and was appointed Co-CEO in June 2024. She is a qualified executive coach, and previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Scholé, an international education management company working across East Africa.

John joined STiR in 2017 and was appointed Co-CEO in June 2024. Based in Northern Ireland, he was previously Director of Learning and Impact, overseeing our programme design and monitoring, evaluation and research. A qualified teacher and coach, he has spoken and written widely about how we can best design systems to foster teacher motivation and agency.

Jobin Thomas

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF MONITORING AND EVALUATION

Jobin leads STiR’s Monitoring & Evaluation. He is an economist with extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale impact evaluations. Prior to joining STiR, he provided consulting services to National Skills Development Corporation, the World Bank and others.

COUNTRY DIRECTOR, UGANDA

Modern heads our country office in Uganda. He previously worked in senior roles with Educate! in both Uganda and Rwanda, leading programme implementation and scale and government partnerships. He is currently pursuing his MBA from Makerere University Business School.

Yoni Nurdiansyah

Yoni heads our country office in Indonesia. He previously worked in senior positions in public and private education sector institutions in Indonesia. Yoni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham.

Mark leads STiR’s global amplification and advocacy activities. He previously worked in fundraising and communications at STiR, and has prior experience working as a teacher and for the UK charity Ambition Institute.

Michael Renvillard

CHAIR

Michael has dedicated nearly three decades to advancing education around the world. He spent almost 20 years with the LEGO Group, leading ambitious, large-scale programmes in Ukraine, Mexico, India and South Africa. Now based in South Africa, he continues to champion the transformative power of play and learning through play globally through his work at Care for Education.

Bijoya is an international development professional with 20 years of global experience in programme and operational management, as well as resource mobilisation in NGOs and for-profit organisations. She currently leads partnership development at the Union for International Cancer Control.

John worked in finance throughout his career. He was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Pearson International, the education division at Pearson for all countries excluding the USA and Canada.

Leah is currently a Programme Specialist at the LEGO Foundation. She brings extensive experience as an educator and advocate, having worked across various NGOs in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Vicky has worked as an in-house lawyer for most of her career. She now works as a consultant General Counsel having previously been General Counsel at Pearson International. She is also a Non-Executive Director at the Law Society.
