STiR welcomes two new partners

STiR Education is delighted to announce two new partnerships today.

First, we welcome IDFC Asset Management Company, our first domestic corporate donor for our work in India. We’re thrilled that they have chosen to invest in our activities in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Vishal Kapoor, CEO at IDFC AMC, said: “At IDFC AMC, we believe that children are the future of our country and ensuring that every child has access to education is vital for a growing economy. Teachers play an essential role in shaping these young minds, but they do not have a platform to share ideas and learn from each other. We found that STiR Education’s work of empowering teachers to create a force for change within their chosen profession addresses this unique challenge and can be scaled up to create maximum impact. IDFC AMC is glad to be the first corporate partner for STiR Education in India and look forward to collaborating through multiple initiatives across various schools in the country.”

Second, we welcome the Headley Trust, our first funder for Ethiopia, who are supporting the establishment of our pilot programme in Addis Ababa. This is a very exciting step for STiR and we plan to start our operations in Ethiopia in the coming months. The Headley’s Trust Executive Thrisha Haldar said: “STiR has proven it can improve the quality of education at scale for children across India and Uganda. We are delighted to enable STiR to establish a new programme in Ethiopia and look forward to seeing the results.”

STiR CEO Sharath Jeevan said: “We’re very grateful for the support of both the Headley Trust and IDFC AMC in funding our work in Ethiopia and India. We’re really looking forward to working with both of these partners, learning together to reach more than 60 million children worldwide by 2025.”
