STiR Education signs 5 year MOU to strengthen the education system of Uganda
The Ministry of Education and Sports has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with STiR Education for a further five years. This collaboration is a significant step forward in STiR Education’s continuous commitment to enhancing educational outcomes across the country, especially given the number of policy developments taking place in the sector. Key initiatives include the 2019 National Teacher Policy, the Education Policy Review Commission’s review of the Government White Paper, the revised lower secondary curriculum, the National Teacher Bill, the Teacher Qualifications Framework, and an upcoming review of the advanced level curriculum.
The MOU, signed on September 17, 2024, highlights a collaborative effort between the government and STiR Education to strengthen educational initiatives, with a focus on system enhancement and teacher motivation. By providing teachers with access to continuous professional development rooted in the principles of intrinsic motivation, this partnership seeks to harness the strengths of both entities to create a more robust and effective educational system.
Throughout the duration of the MOU, STiR Education aims to empower leadership within the Ugandan education system to take ownership of sustaining intrinsic motivation across primary and secondary education in both public and private schools. This initiative aspires to ensure that every child, teacher, and official is motivated to learn and improve creating a stronger, more resilient educational system in Uganda.
