At STiR, we’re passionate about spreading the value of teacher motivation as far as we can. Over time, we have developed a global reputation for our work. At the same time, interest in motivation is growing. Large multilateral groups such as the World Bank and Global Partnership for Education have recently increased their emphasis on the importance of teacher intrinsic motivation. Despite this, intrinsic motivation receives little attention in educational programming. We believe we are the only global organisation with an explicit focus on intrinsic motivation at scale.
We started to receive requests for support from other organisations or governments. Based on this demand, we have introduced a new model of amplification to harness our expertise to provide insights and capacity building to other actors in the global education sector. Our superpower is our methodology to foster intrinsic motivation and behaviour change in teachers. We see this as the most efficient, responsible and sustainable way to grow our global impact further.

Current Projects
We currently have amplification projects operational in two countries:
We work with two partners in Brazil to integrate motivation into their existing activities:
- Centro Lemann offers an Educational Leadership Programme across 49 municipalities. The programme aims to promote learning with equity in primary schools by training school leaders. We have helped them to integrate content on motivation into this programme.
- Ensina Brasil aims to develop young leaders in classrooms to transform the education system. We’re helping them to design a new programme to develop motivation across municipalities.
In Ghana, we’re offering advice to Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning (T-TEL), a local NGO. We support their national secondary education reform project, ‘Leading in Teaching’. We’re helping them to understand how to foster and measure teacher motivation across the country.
