Our team in Uganda recently conducted their latest National Bootcamp for secondary school leaders. The event was organised to train members of the National Executive Committee of Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU). This was also attended by the national leadership team for the National Association for Municipal and District Education Officers (NAMDEO) and the Uganda National Inspectors of Schools Association (UNISA).
We were particularly privileged to host the Minister of State for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, as our keynote speaker.
The event was featured by a national broadcaster (NTV Uganda) and a national newspaper (The DailyMonitor) with quotes from our Uganda Country Director – Modern Karema. You can watch the video here and read the news here.
Modern said, “Motivation and demotivation is not just a product of money, what motivates a staff member is an environment in which they are operating and the ability to get the results. In the case of teachers, we believe that we need to empower them with the other motivation, which is why we take them through training and inform them about the purpose of the teacher.”
