We are pleased to share that our work in Delhi on the Teacher Development Coordinator (TDC) programme was featured in the Asian Network of Training and Research Institutions in Educational Planning (ANTRIEP) newsletter. The article talks about research by UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) and Education Development Trust on the TDC programme, which focuses on how the programme in partnership with STiR Education has attempted to enhance teaching and learning outcomes in the middle tier of the education system in Delhi. The authors David Childress and Barbara Tournier shares that the programme has acted as a catalyst for teachers to improve both their professional development and motivation. The article further talks about the positive effects of the TDC programme since its initial implementation which is reflected in the increased teacher collaboration, a shift to a more professional culture in schools, improvements in student outcomes, enhanced usage and application of feedback and data, and strengthening connections to adapt to difficult situations.

We are also pleased that Dexter Sam, our Lead Senior Manager for Design and Programme Readiness in Tamil Nadu, shared his views in a report published by the News Laundry. The report talks about declining literacy rates due to the pandemic and how the objective of complete literacy can be met by 2030. Dexter says, “Online learning has increased inequality which is harmful for the future. The rural and the tribal areas have experienced a lack of resources and online learning has created a digital divide. Children from rural areas and with poor economic backgrounds have lost the opportunity to get quality education.”
