We are delighted to share that Pavan Kumar (Senior Manager for Design and Programme Readiness at STiR) was featured in a Skoll World Forum ecosystem event today. The 2022 Skoll World Forum is an all-virtual event designed for learning, connection, and taking action for those dedicated to social progress, and our event was titled: “Flipping more than the classroom – how Covid changed partnerships for education.

In this panel discussion, Pavan talks about STiR’s work prior to Covid and how we responded when it started to spread in India and the schools were shut down. We started off by rebuilding connections with the government officials, conducted need-based analyses, co-designed virtual teacher network meetings with the government and conducted system-wide virtual capacity building activities on “technology for education”. Our efforts during the pandemic helped us achieve outcomes like increased ownership from the officials, enhanced monitoring and evaluation, increased confidence to use technology and a renewed culture of data-based reflections.

Pavan was joined at this event by panellists Chau Nguyen Bao, iPLAY Project Coordinator at VVOB; Dr. Nicholas Dowdall, Evidence Specialist at the LEGO Foundation; and Anna Murru, Partnerships Manager at VVOB. We really appreciated hearing about how their organisations had also responded to pandemic-induced issues in the education sector.
