As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is not possible for STiR’s current and potential partners to travel to observe our work in schools. But our teachers, school leaders and district officials have been keen to share their learning and challenges, as well as how they are responding to these unusual times. So we’re delighted that we have been able to innovate to create virtual field visits, which allow for engagement and interaction through online video calls.
During these virtual field visits, partners such as the Atlassian Foundation and Mphasis have had the opportunity to ‘e-meet’ a number of education system stakeholders in Delhi and Tamil Nadu, together with STiR’s District Leads, Programme Managers and Donor Partnerships team. The conversation allows the system stakeholders to share the story of change in their district, and the lessons they have learned as part of their journey with STiR. Our partners also have the opportunity to ask questions about the programme and gain a better understanding of our work.
Melissa Beaumont-Lee, International Director at the Atlassian Foundation, said: “The pivot to virtual field visits is a stroke of genius. STiR is always so innovative in their approach, and this was just one more example of this. Covid-19 presents many challenges, but also opportunities. One such opportunity is to virtually connect to STiR’s work and meet with the implementers in-country, without having to jump on a plane for 15 hours. STiR have a very impressive team, and it was wonderful to connect with more of them.”
Ms. Monita Sandhu, Teacher Development Coordinator at SPM SkV CRPark in Delhi, said: “Thanks for sharing this great opportunity to interact with the various components of the TDC program.
