STiR is very excited to announce a new partnership with Yayasan Bakti Pendidikan Unggul (YBPU) in Indonesia. YBPU is part of the Bakti Barito Foundation, the philanthropic wing of Barito Pacific Group, a publicly-listed integrated energy and resource-based enterprise in Indonesia. The Foundation aims to give back to the community by focusing on four key areas: education, environment, economy and social development, with areas of work located in Sumatra and West Java.

In our memorandum of understanding, which was signed by both parties today, we have agreed to work together to deliver our project to reignite a sustainable intrinsic motivation and love of lifelong learning across stakeholders at all levels of the education system in Indonesia. The agreement represents an extendable two-year incubation that will allow STiR to launch its first activities at district level in the coming weeks.

Dian Anis Purbasari, Head of Foundation at YBPU, said: “Our Foundation is committed to fostering quality education in Indonesia as envisioned by our Founder Prajogo Pangestu and family. To achieve this goal, it is important for our organisation to collaborate with others who possess unique expertise and proven experience in the field of education, such as STiR. We are excited to embark on this partnership and grateful for the trust put in us by STiR, to together support the improvement of the education system in Indonesia.”

Girish Menon, CEO at STiR Education, said: “We are delighted to have found a strong partner in YBPU with whom we share values and a vision and passion for education. We look forward to learning from the experience of YBPU as we adapt our programme to the Indonesian context, and to working with their team to create sustainable change across the education system.”
