We are delighted to share that we have secured generous funding from the Lemann Foundation to initiate our first-ever project in Brazil. We’re very excited to have this opportunity to explore how our focus on intrinsic motivation can help to support education leaders to address the deep-rooted inequalities within the education system which majorly affect children’s access to quality education.
We will work with the Lemann Center for an initial period of six months with the potential for a longer-term partnership, which we hope can help us build towards a plan to work across the country in the next 10 years. We will embed the principles of intrinsic motivation into their work and support the officials in Brazil to become outstanding leaders.
Anna Penido, Executive Director, Lemann Center, says, “STiR will help us improve our training programme by strengthening our capacity to develop the intrinsic motivation of educational leaders. It is essential to provide all Brazilian students with equitable educational opportunities.”
John Mcintosh, Director of Learning and Impact, STiR Education, says, “This represents a new and exciting opportunity for us to understand a new geography whilst contributing to an important existing project, consistent with our amplification strategy. We look forward to working with Lemann Center and building a motivated education system in Brazil.”
This partnership will help us achieve our 2025 objectives, and we are so grateful to the Lemann Foundation for this opportunity. We are very excited about our future in Brazil and look forward to sharing further updates as this project progresses.
